Issue:

 

Updating Client Policy - Change made in the PretonControl setting do not take effect immediately.

 

 

Solution:

 

This behavior is by design; changes made in the PretonControl will take effect only after the next connection to the PretonCoordinator, depending on the Network Mode configuration.

To force an update in the on a client machine:

 

1. In the PretonControl Printer section make the necessary setting changes

2. Click Save in order to save the changes

 

 

 

 

3. In the PretonSaverClient (client PC), right click on the PretonSaver system try icon.

4. Select "Update Policy"

 

 

 

5. In the same menu select "Launch TraceView"

6. In the trace view look for a message reading "ClientManager Refresh"

 

 

 

7. Client is updated and you can print with the desired settings.

 

 

Please Note:

 

You need to repeat this procedure for any setting changes you would like the client to immediately receive from the Server. 

 

 

If the client does not have the PretonSaver sys try Icon:

 

If client PC does not have a system icon, printing once after changing the settings in the PretonControl page will update the settings at the client PC. To verify that settings were downloaded successfully :

 

1. Go to ../program files/Preton/PretonSaver folder

2. Click on PretonTraceView

3. Print one page from the client machine

4. In trace view look for the following massage:

 

 

 

 

 

 

In extreme case you can restart the service in order to force setting (policy) download
